Promenade. La misura del circostante

5 September 2026 – 6 January 2027
The title Promenade evokes the idea of walking as an experience of discovery and observation. Scherffig moves through the city and nature without necessarily searching for a specific subject: she observes construction sites, architecture, ruins, quarries, stones, vegetation and landscapes. What she encounters is absorbed through her gaze and subsequently transformed through drawing, the central medium of her artistic practice.

The exhibition explores the constant dialogue between architecture and nature, construction and transformation, memory and the present. For Scherffig, urban space is a living, ever-changing organism: since the 1970s, the artist has observed construction sites, demolitions and architectural structures, focusing particularly on moments of transition and transformations of the landscape.

The exhibition brings together works from different periods of her career: from construction sites and architecture to layered maps of cities, from quarries and vegetation to sculptures and installations. Photography and drawing are in constant dialogue, while materials such as steel, porcelain, organza and gold leaf broaden a practice in which art, nature, architecture, music, literature and archaeology come together.

Promenade invites visitors to take a journey through fifty years of artistic practice and, at the same time, to rediscover the act of observation. A journey through the gaze of an artist capable of transforming line into space and matter into vision, revealing the complexity and continuous transformation of the world around us.
